“Month-after-month we’re seeing impressive growth in the UK and worldwide as more consumers choose to watch films and TV shows on demand. Last year we served up over a billion videos in 120 countries, representing a 700% increase on 2011 and proving that consumers want an alternative to pricey pay-to-view or subscription services,” said Kai Henniges, CEO at Viewster.

“We’re pulling out all the stops in 2013 as we drive growth worldwide with a raft of exciting new partnerships, so being listed as one of the UK’s top 20 video properties is a great start to the year for us.”
In the US, Viewster entertained some 8.3 million viewers, placing it in the Top 50 list, with 198.6 million videos viewed by Americans in February. Ranked at number 46, Viewster overtook a number of popular and traditional video sites.

In a related development, Viewster has announced new partnerships ?to bring ‘festival films’ to VOD. The company has agreed with KinoNation, Renderyard and Moviehouse Entertainment to stream over 20 new titles on the site.

“We’re proud to feature festival films that have never been shown in cinemas or home entertainment before, like the double winner of the New York International Independent Film Festival DOS,” said Henniges.
Viewster holds the rights for over 5,000 titles, including classic and current Hollywood films, TV series, and other popular genre releases, as well as local content from more than 150 content partners that are distributed in 120 countries.??
