The number of digital homes in Hungary rose by 6,000 in August to 1.067 million, according to data published by the country’s National Communications Authority (NHH).
Its data is based on the 14 largest broadcasters in Hungary, which together account for 80-85% of the pay-TV market. It shows that 43.5% of their viewers were receiving a digital TV service at the end of August.
The number of DTH subs fell from 734,000 to 730,000 in August, while the number receiving cable and IPTV (analogue and digital combined) was down from 1.722 million to 1.721 million.
Digital cable take-up, however, rose by 10,000 to 337,000 during the month.
