Alaskan telco selects Amino for HD expansion

Alaskan telco Matanuska Telephone Association (MTA) has selected UK firm Amino Communications to provide set-top boxes as part of the telco's deployment of high-definition services.

MTA will deploy Amino's A130 model, an MPEG-4 HD single-stream set-top box, and the A530, an HD-capable DVR which enables the telco to offer additional services such as pause-live-TV. The telco currently serves over 60,000 customers across its 10,000 square mile footprint with a range of broadband, IPTV and wireless services.

“At MTA we are making a significant investment to develop our IPTV service," said Eric Anderson, Director of Engineering, Construction and Operations at Matanuska Telephone Association. "Amino’s HD set-top boxes with their cutting edge features strengthen our market proposition, and their flexible and knowledgeable technical support team has already proved to be an asset. By selecting a specialist like Amino, we are looking forward to successfully delivering next generation IPTV.”
