Macau’s public broadcaster, TDM, has launched a free-to-air satellite channel. During the next few months of testing, TDM Satellite Channel will carry news bulletins in Cantonese, Mandarin, Portuguese and English, along with a range of current affairs programming about Macau.

TDM’s Chief Executive Officer, Manuel Gonçalves, said the channel marked “a major milestone” in television broadcasting in Macau. “In addition to TDM’s programming, we will bring to viewers a diverse range of television content through collaboration with Chinese broadcasters and public broadcasters from Portuguese-speaking countries,” he said. “Our objective is to establish a cross-cultural platform for China, the Portuguese-speaking community and overseas Chinese while enabling audiences to have a better understanding of Macau today.”

* Transponder: C5H
* Frequency: 3805.3 MHz
* Polarisation: Horizontal
* Modulation: QPSK
