CODETEL deploys Amdocs CES to support triple-play services

America Movil has selected Amdocs CES (customer experience systems) for deployment by its subsidiary CODETEL, based in the Dominican Republic, to support the latter's convergent wireline, wireless, broadband and IPTV billing, ordering and customer relationship management.

CODETEL already uses Amdocs for wireless billing and has now expanded its use to support its wireline, IPTV and broadband operations. As a result, Amdocs is expected to deliver efficiencies when introducing convergent multi-play offerings and discounts, and can offer its customers one bill for all services.

"Amdocs is a long-time partner and continues to deliver value with its software, extensive systems integration expertise and local support," said Oscar Pena, CEO of America Movil's Dominican Republic Operations. "Amdocs' CRM, ordering and billing products are proven to support any line of business, and will enable America Movil to reduce operational expenditures, while fulfilling the vision of delivering innovative multi-play offerings."

CODETEL launched its IPTV service 'Claro TV' in February of this year, based on the Microsoft Mediaroom platform and Alcatel-Lucent technology, and offering around 200 channels and a VOD service called 'Video Club Claro'.
