MADRID, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- A study published in Spanish sportspaper Diario AS on Friday showed that Real Madrid earns more money from television rights than any other team in the world.

The study 'Football Transfer Review', made by the company Prime time Sport, shows that Real Madrid earns 136 million Euros a year from the sale of its TV rights.

Real Madrid is in the first year of its contract with the production company Mediapro.

The Spanish giant is followed by Manchester United and then by FC Barcelona, which earns 116 million euros a season. Mediapro also owns Barcelona's television rights.

Real Madrid is also reported to earn more from marketing (replica kits etc) than Manchester United, with 129 million Euros a year going into the club's accounts.

However, the reigning English Premier League Champion is more efficient in exploiting the possible earnings from the Old Trafford Stadium than Real Madrid earns from home matches held at the Santiago Bernabeu.

While Real Madrid makes 101 million per year from income earned at its home ground, Manchester United earns 128.

Bayern Munich is the fourth biggest earner in Europe, with a total income of 295 million Euros, of which a massive 177 million comes from marketing.
