Martin Tyler switches to ESPN for World Cup

With the football World Cup being played next year in South Africa, the satellite channels are getting ready to cover the event that only occurs every four years, and if they get it wrong they will have a long time to wait before they can put things right.

The UK satellite sports new boy, ESPN, is taking no chances in covering the event, and in order to offer a voice that is known to millions is bringing in Martin Tyler, who is well known in the area of sport.

The US audience will know Martin Tylerís voice from the EA Sports FIFA game on the PS3 and Xbox 360, but it is his World Cup experience that is virtually second to none.

He has been the voice of the event since 1978!
