Case drags on for Sky and EDS

In a case that appears to have been running for years between satellite broadcaster BSkyB and software developer EDS, there are complaints that the Judge is dragging his heels slightly, considering that the case ended over a year ago.

Both sides are still waiting for the Judge’s verdict on the case, which is said to be worth around £700 million.

The dispute is over a customer management system provided by EDS, which should have cost £48 million in 2000, but took six years to install and eventually cost £265 million.

With legal costs approaching £70 million there is a lot at stake for both companies but, according to the court, the Judge’s verdict is imminent.

The last time that this was heard was back in September.
