T-Hrvatski Telekom dominates Croatian pay-TV market
Croatian telco T-Hrvatski Telekom (a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom) has reported that it now has nearly 190,000 subscribers for its IPTV service 'MAXtv', up from 170,591 at the end of June, and claims this now makes it the largest pay-TV operator on the Croatian market.
The telco reports that it reached this milestone within two years of operating the service, having more than doubled its subscriber base in 12 months from the 92,205 customers it had one year previously. T-Hrvatski Telekom upgraded its IPTV infrastructure in the second quarter of this year. The company also reports that it now has nearly 527,000 broadband customers, up from around 429,000 at the end of September 2008.
Total revenue across all operations reached HRK 6.525bn (US$ 1.335bn) for the first nine months of this year, down 1.7% from the same period of 2008, while net profits fell 7.5% by the same comparison to reach HRK 1.747bn.
