OTE expands IPTV footprint once more

Greek telco OTE has expanded its IPTV footprint again, making the service 'Conn-x TV' available to a further nine cities, which brings the total number of cities where the service is available to 53.

The nine new cities where the service is available are: Arta, Zakynthos, Karditsa, Lamia, Lefkada, Messologgi, Mykonos, Naousa and Paros. OTE has committed itself to making Conn-x TV available in all major cities and prefecture capitals across Greece by the end of 2009.

In a recent interview with Periklis Lytras, Head of IPTV Content at OTE, Mr. Lytras indicated that the telco is thinking seriously about using DTH to expand its pay-TV footprint even further.
