Deutsche Telekom offers HD on-demand to all Entertain customers

Deutsche Telekom will start offering on-demand titles in high-definition to all customers of its IPTV service 'T-Home Entertain' from this month, whether they be connected via ADSL2+ or VDSL.

Having previously only been available to T-Home Entertain customers with a VDSL connection, over 500 HD titles are to be made available to all T-Home Entertain customers, including films, TV series and documentaries. The telco will also start offering HD content from its online store Videoload to all its broadband customers, having previously only offered this content to customers with a VDSL connection.

"We are going on an HD offensive, offering all Entertain customers high-definition content on demand," said Christian P. Illek, Member of the T-Home Board of Management responsible for Marketing. "With technical coverage of more than 20 million households, Entertain is the largest sales platform for HD content in Germany, and we will expand our offer consistently, both in terms of the online video store and our range of channels."

Deutsche Telekom recently reached 800,000 subscribers for its IPTV service 'T-Home Entertain', and expects to reach the 1mn customers mark by the end of this year, with a number of service enhancements planned to speed it on its way.
