Sky Sports to sell Premier League clips
The satellite sports provider, BSkyB, will be selling highlights from the FA Premier League to the owners of iPhones, through a new app.
Currently there are around 1.8 million downloads of Sky TV apps,
These are estimated to be bringing in around £60,000 in advertising revenues every month, but with the addition of this new iPhone app these revenues could go sky high.
According to Sky TV, the Sky Sports Football Score Centre iPhone app could generate thousands of pounds worth of revenue, which in the current climate has to be good business for BSkyB.
There are millions of apps available for the iPhone, but BSkyB will become one of the early publishers of content to take advantage of the changes that Apple have made to the apps when it comes to charging for content.
