Belgian DTH platform TV Vlaanderen has introduced a rental model for its HD subscriptions. The operator claims to offer the cheapest HD offer on the market.

For a monthly fee of EUR 5.95 new subscribers receive a Philips HD DSR 7121 satellite receiver, a dish and duo-LNB (for Astra at 19.2 degrees East and 23.5 degrees East) including installation.

New subscribers pay EUR 8.95 for the Philips HD DSR 7122 satellite receiver with PVR.

Subscriptions to channel bouquets come on top of the equipment rental; the basic offer starts at EUR 9.90 a month. The platform offers all Flemish national public (VRT) and commercial channels as well as a number of international thematic channels. An extended tier costs EUR 14.90 and an ‘all-inclusive’ offer, including the HD option, costs EUR 19.90. Bought separately, the HD channels cost EUR 4.99.

A separate bouquet of thematic channels, which broadcasts from 23.5 East, is available at EUR 3.99 and the gay X-Man channel is a la carte and costs EUR 7.95.
