Latvia’s two leading commercial TV broadcasters LNT and TV3 are considering the possibility of ending all analogue transmissions in the capital, Riga, from the beginning of 2010.
According to Diena, the reasons for the possible move are the high cost of such transmissions, their poor quality and the fact that they are watched by so few people.
The broadcasters may also consider switching off their analogue transmissions in other parts of Latvia.
ASO in the country is due to take place on January 1, 2012.
