Nigeria gets low-cost DStv

Multichoice is supplying a special low-cost digital TV bundle for Nigeria.

‘Access’ is the name of the package, and supplies 27 channels at Naira 1500 a month (about $9.90), thus enabling far more Nigerians to be able to enjoy satellite TV.

At the launch in Lagos, MultiChoice Nigeria MD, Joseph Hundah, said: “The launch of DStv Access is a dream come true. It has been our plan to make DStv accessible to every Nigerian. Efforts at achieving this have included the opening of branches and inauguration of super-dealers across the country; introduction of bouquets that everyone can afford and the sustenance of premium quality programmes on our platform.”

However, Donald Etim, Head of Marketing, MultiChoice Nigeria, added: “DStv Acess is the official minimum way to get onto the DStv platform. We got feedback from Nigerians on the need for affordable bouquets. This has led to the introduction of first, the DStv Compact, followed by the DStv Family, and now, the DStv Access priced at an all-time low subscription rate of N1,500 per month.”
