THOR 6: First test of orbit

Scandinavian satellite operator Telenor Satellite Broadcasting (TSBc) by the first technical tests on a new telecommunications satellite THOR 6, which is temporarily located at orbital position 1.8 E. The purpose of technical tests to check THOR 6 satellite in terms of whether it meets the parameters required for the provision of commercial services.

If the tests are successful, the satellite will be moved to the position of 0.8 W, which will replace Thor III satellite and to allow further development TSBc in Central and Eastern Europe and the Nordic region.

The capacity of a satellite THOR 6 will use the platform UPC Direct Focus Sat and Canal Digital.
