DigiTAG Annual Public Seminar, Geneva. Between 25-30% of TV sets sold next year in Italy are likely to be MHP-enabled, according to Mediasetís Alberto Sigismondi.

The figure is likely to rise to between 50-60% in 2011. Despite failing to establish itself as an interactive platform elsewhere in Europe, MHP continues to cement itself in Italy. Last month the digital TV association DGTVi published plans to include MHP as part of a new hybrid platform that would effectively be Italyís answer to Canvas and Hbb.

Italy is well on the way to digitisation, with Rome having undertaken ASO yesterday (November 16) and Naples set to follow in December.
