France is mulling to issue all the Freeview channels in High Definition by 2015.

Currently there are five channels and the French DTT broadcasts in this format, TF1, France 2, Arte, Canal + and M6.

In this way France would have 18 channels in HD that could be enjoyed by almost 90% of the French for that date. Currently it is estimated that there is already a park full HD receivers that reaches 45% of recipients and that by 2012 will be about 80% of the French adapted to receive HD broadcasts on their televisions as members Gallic regulatory council, CSA.

France was also the first to launch the TNT SAT (satellite DTT) to cover all areas in shadow, with several models and a simple receiver Viaccess card, and where some of the channels in HD are also received from the satellite.
