AT&T intros two new TV apps

AT&T has launched two new TV applications for customers of its IPTV service 'U-verse TV': 'Offers On Demand' and 'Caller ID on TV'.

The new 'Offers On Demand' application allows users to redeem a coupon code on-screen for discounts on movie rentals, while the 'Caller ID on TV' application lets subscribers view U-verse Voice Caller ID and voicemail notifications on their television screen. With the two new applications, AT&T has now introduced 20 free television apps since launch of the IPTV service, including 12 this year alone.

"These apps make U-verse services even more useful and interactive for our customers, and that's exactly what every app should do," said Jeff Weber, Vice President of Video Services for AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. "This has been a big year for U-verse TV applications. We're delivering apps that not only enhance what you can do on your TV screen, but add value across your entire U-verse experience."

AT&T added 240,000 new subscribers for its IPTV service 'U-verse TV' in the third quarter of this year to reach 1.8mn by the end of September
