French broadcasters denounce Call TV tax
November 18, 2009
The French Association of private channels (ACP) denounced the decision by the Senate to impose a new tax for television stations on revenues from phone calls made to Call TV and other game shows.
The ACP said that the audiovisual sector is already experiencing a particularly difficult period with a substantial decrease in net advertising revenue, and now broadcasters are faced with another arbitrary tax on their income.
Just recently, another tax was slapped onto the private broadcasters to finance the reform of France Televisions through a tax on advertising revenues.
