Deutsche Telekom extends sponsorship deal

Deutsche Telekom has extended its sponsorship agreement with German football club FC Bayern München until 2013, and will use the new agreement to market the football packages available on its IPTV service 'T-Home Entertain' to Bayern fans.

Under the agreement, the telco will remain as head sponsor of the club for the next four years, with its consumer brand T-Home to be shirt sponsor during the period. Nor financial details of the agreement were disclosed.

Deutsche Telekom had reached 885,000 customers for its IPTV service by the end of the third quarter of this year, but only if counting orders placed for the service and not functioning installations, which stood at 678,000 at the end of the period.
