Pace checks into hotel market with Quadriga
November 19, 2009
Pace has entered the hospitality market with a new contract for its MultiDweller product. The Saltaire company has signed an agreement with Quadriga, which serves 400,000 hotel rooms across 50 countries in Europe and the Middle East.
It is the second customer for the MultiDweller product following the agreement with Norway’s Canal Digital announced in July. It also represents a new market for the product and Pace as a company.
Based on the DOCSIS standard MultiDweller is able to convert existing cabling infrastructure into a localised high-speed IP network, acting as a mini headend to distribute broadcast and broadband services.
“Infrastructure constraints can prove extremely challenging for hoteliers, so MultiDweller was a natural fit as it allows us to bring enhanced digital services to hotel rooms cost-effectively and efficiently,” explained Mark Budie, technology director at Quadriga.
MultiDweller is the first product from the Pace Network division to go to market and represents the company’s intention to diversify its product range.
