New MTV service set for launch

Networks International (MTVNI) has announced the programming line-up for the launch of its new service targeting the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Due to make its debut at 9pm CET on November 29, it will start with three music videos played back to back: Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys; V Bezvetri by Aneta Langerova; and Numb by Linkin Park. MTV will be on air for 24 hours daily and available to around 1.5 million homes in the two countries via cable, DTH and IPTV.
Commenting on the service, Petr Dvorak the general director of its operator, CME-owned TV Nova, said: “We’re proud to announce that the world’s most well known youth brand, MTV, is the latest addition to our portfolio, joining our other thematic services, Nova Cinema and Nova Sport. We believe that MTV will be really well received by Czech and Slovak youth and we’re confident it will quickly become their number one channel of choice.”
