Com Hem grows digital base
November 26, 2009
Com Hem added over 40,000 new digital TV subscribers in the third quarter, the switch off of analogue services in the Stockholm area having led to a fall in pay-TV analogue subscribers.
Reflecting the more lucrative nature of digital subscribers, revenue increased by around 7% year-on-year to SEK 3,039 million (€294.09m). EBITDA for the first three quarters was up to 2% at SEK 1,262 million.
Digital TV connections climbed by 40,300 on the quarter to reach 544,700 as of September 30, 2009. However analogue pay-TV subs lost 32,100 and now stand at 28,300. Broadband and telephony connections have slowed in recent quarters and now stand at 518,100 and 337,100 respectively.
