Com Hem has added three new channels to its On Demand service, launched in the Swedish capital Stockholm on November 23.

The addition of TV8, National Geographic and Disney Channel brings the number of channel brands on the VOD service to 15. The first on demand movies in the HD format have also been added.

“We’re seeing more content providers offer their services on demand just as the interest is increasing among our customers,” said Mats Holmgren, product manager for On Demand at Com Hem.

Com Hem on Demand also includes: SVT 1, SVT 2, TV3, TV4, TV4+, TV4 Fakta, Lattjo Lajban, Star!, Canal+ Select, Eurosport, Eurosport 2, and TV1000 Play. The service comprises both catch-up TV and restart.

The addition of Stockholm will bring On Demand to another 600,000 households, joining the district of Skåne in Southern Sweden, where 175,000 homes already have the service. By the end of 2010, Com Hem On Demand will be available to 1.5 million households.
