UPC Poland introduces video-on-demand

UPC has introduced a video-on-demand (VOD) service in Poland. Offering around 200 titles to all digital subscribers irrespective of their programme package and decoder, it is initially being made available in Warsaw and environs.

Movies, some of which will be in HD, are being sourced from the leading studios Monolith, Warner Bros and Paramount Dreamworks, though others are expected to follow. They will be available for periods of 24 or 48 hours and cost from PLN6 -15 (€1.46-3.65). The service will be subsequently rolled out to other parts of the country, starting with the cities of Gdansk and Katowice.
