C Music gains Russian carriage

Fast-growing music video channel C Music is now available to Russian viewers on the Akado cable system.

Akado operates a triple-play broadband and telephony service in and around Moscow with more than 1m subscribers (as at the end of last year). It already provides HDTV services as part of its broadcasting portfolio.

C Music, which describes itself as the "classical, cinematic and chillout music video channel" went live on Dec 1. "QC Music TV is the world's only international classical music-video channel taking a pop style approach to the presentation of classical music, as well as other related genres such as chillout and Cinema (film soundtracks)," said a company release.

Recent expansion has seen C Music gain similar exposure in Portugal, Slovenia, Estonia, Greece, Moldova, France (Neuf) as well as existing carriage in Germany, Thailand, the Czech Republic, Scandinavia and India.

C Music is represented on this deal by distribution agent Thema.
