Numericable adds KidsCo
French cable company Numericable, which already carries children's channel KidsCo to its viewers in France, is extending carriage to its services in Belgium and Luxembourg.
The new distribution means that KidsCo is being offered in French, English, Portuguese, German and Spanish. Programming on offer will include shows such as The Wiggles, The New Adventures of Madeline and Dino Squad, in addition to much loved series such as Count Duckula, DangerMouse, The BFG and The Wind in the Willows, as a result of KidsCo's recent deal with FremantleMedia. Such classics will be shown alongside original KidsCo programming including Boo & Me and Jass Time. Transmission will start in January.
Paul Robinson, Managing Director of KidsCo, welcomed the news: "Numericable is widely recognised as one of Europe's leading cable operators. As such, Numericable is able to take its pick from the vast array of channels available. We are delighted that Numbericable has selected KidsCo to offer to the children and families of Belgium and Luxembourg and are confident that the channel will add significantly to their viewing choice. We are looking forward to building on this relationship with Numericable in the future."
Pascal Dormal, Managing Director at Numbericable Belgium, added: "Our viewers expect the best and we are committed to providing high quality programming to all of our audiences. KidsCo's blend of programming, which parents can trust and that kids relish, sets the benchmark for its genre and we are delighted to be able to offer this to our viewers."
KidsCo is a joint venture channel owned by leading media companies NBC Universal, Corus Entertainment Inc. (Nelvana) and Cookie Jar Entertainment.
