The Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has launched an investigation into the country’s recently launched mobile TV service.
According to Gazeta Prawna, it involves the mobile companies Polkomtel, PTC and P4, along with the mobile TV operator Info-TV-FM and its backer NFI Magna Polonia.
The UOKiK says it is looking into the possibility that the parties may have entered into an illegal agreement and behaved in an anti-competitive manner. It also says that other parties may have been involved and that the police will be taking part in the investigation. All the parties have denied any wrongdoing.
Info-TV-FM’s mobile TV service was launched in October and will operate on a trial basis until the end of the year.
