BSkyB hits out at BT

Satellite broadcaster BSkyB may feel slightly hard done by as media regulator Ofcom considers BTís attempts to increase its charges to wholesale customers by four per cent.

This comes as Ofcom is planning to cut the amount that BSkyB charges its wholesale customers.

The trouble at BT is that there is a massive pension fund deficit, and increasing wholesale charges could help raise the funds needed, but this will just mean that the wholesale buyers will pass the cost onto customers.

According to a spokesman from BSkyB, this is forcing consumers to bail out BT.

BSkyB could have a point, as Ofcomís stance against its charges for wholesale customers could seem like one rule for them and another rule for others.
