Habbo.fr, a virtual community launched five years ago in France from the original Finish concept, and targeted to teenagers from 13 to 17, is claiming 10m avatars have been created on the site.
Now backed by the M6 television group, the French online website offers M6's virtual studio and is a priviledged off-air site for M6's ‘Pop Idol' localised version Nouvelle Star through its own dedicated portal Nouvelle Star.
Habbo is a worldwide partner of Summit Entertainment, with Habbo.fr also allowing virtual immersion in the world of the popular feature film Twilight.
Habbo also has struck a European partnership with the MTV Music Awards, and Habbo.fr has created a new space available until January 23rd dedicated to the NRJ Music Awards, named after French music radio station NRJ.
By engaging into such events and partnerships, Habbo wants to appear as an innovative platform for personalized interactive ad campaigns.
