International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) completed its acquisition of select terrestrial, satellite and IP product lines and related technology from Logic Innovations for $600,000, IDC announced Dec. 7.
IDC paid $250,000 in cash, with $300,000 placed in escrow. Payment of the remaining portion of the purchase price and release of the escrow has been deferred for 12 to 17 months.
The product line purchase, which initially was assessed at $750,000 when it was first announced in November, will see IDC acquire about $350,000 worth of Logic inventory, including transport stream multiplexing, IP multicasting and unicasting, ATSC, DVB, and MPEG technology as well as broadcast record and playback products for the terrestrial, satellite and cable broadcast markets. IDC also will absorb Logic personnel associated with the product lines.
The move aims to strengthen IDCís product portfolio and to build off of its $2 million acquisition of certain Tiernan broadcast technology product lines from Comtech Telecommunication Corp. in August.
