German pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland has acquired the exclusive live coverage rights of English soccer Premier League for Germany and Austria.

Over the next three seasons the subscription broadcaster will screen all important matches live. The contract, which runs until 2013, also comprises the exclusive rights for web-TV and mobile-TV. Financial details were not revealed.

Of the 380 league matches, Sky will screen up to five games per week, with more than 130 matches in high definition (HDTV) per season. The live offer will be complemented with weekly highlights shows and the programme Premier League World.

The current TV contract, which runs until the 2009/2010 season, was concluded by Premier League with Sky Deutschland predecessor Premiere and its competitor Arena, which shared the rights.
