BabyTV, a 24-hour, commercial-free channel for infants and toddlers, has launched on the Basic Plus Package of DISH Network in Mexico. The channel is available in Spanish and English on channel 315.

BabyTV is available since November on the recently introduced outfit of DISH Network, which is already present in more than a dozen states and several cities in Mexico including Guadalajara, León, Monterrey, Irapuato and Mexico City, reportedly reaching 500,000 subscribers already.

Earlier this year BabyTV launched on SKY Mexico gaining a wide presence on the platform’s ‘FUN’ tier; and also introduced a DVD library into the Mexican market which is now available at Walmart, Costco, Soriana and additional retailers. BabyTV is also available in Mexico on Cablevision, the nation’s largest cable operator.

“This year has been a big year of growth for us in Latin America,” said Liran Talit, MD of BabyTV. “We have more than doubled the number of subscribers we reach in Mexico; we have made a first entry in Brazil with a launch on Oi, and have also launched with Telefonica in both Chile and Peru. In addition BabyTV has generated a presence in retailers such as Walmart, Carrefour, Fnac, Coscto, Soriana and others with the launch of its DVD collection in Mexico and Brazil. We feel that the BabyTV channel and brand and our values of being a quality family service, are well-suited to the lifestyle and culture in Latin America, and will continue to invest our efforts in growing the brand both on and off the screen in this market throughout the New Year.”
