TF1 has announced a three-year partnership with Samsung Electronics France. From March 2010, Samsung products sold in France will feature interactive services tied to the commercial broadcaster’s flagship brands and content included dedicated applications featuring news, weather, sport and programme information. The TF1 Vision video-on-demand service will be available on Connected TVs and Blu-ray players.

“The alliance between TF1 and Samsung opens new prospects for distributing content and services to viewers. It reflects our policy of forming strategic partnerships with key players in the consumer electronics industry, while respecting the viewing public and the audiovisual ecosystem,” commented TF1 Chairman and CEO Nonce Paolini.

The technology will be on display at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this January. It will also be the subject of an extensive advertising campaign around the product launches.

Samsung is following in the footsteps of Sony, which in September struck a deal with Germany’s ARD, France’s M6, Italy’s Mediaset, Spain’s RTVE, Antena3 and LaSexta and Five in the UK.
