Cool Re: funfiles satellite cant cope

    Hi "humaxboy",
Sorry about that, we are fully aware of the problem and have been continually upgrading to meet demand. We have had hackers deliberately overloading the server and have eliminated quite a few. The next step will be a quantum leap to a larger and more expensive server. We do hope that you will be patient and bear with us in the meantime.
The load became quite heavy over the holidays, with all the changes on the Sat scene and should ease off soon.
Kindest Regards, Bill and the FunFiles Team.

    Re: funfiles satellite cant cope

All dos attacks have been handled, meaning the server is currently running the best it can.
Currently the monthly server costs are arround 90 US dollars. The server we need cost arround 400 dollars a month.
However within 2 or 3 months the ammount of visitors will decrease untill september. So we'll wait before upgrading untill the busy days come again.

Besides, the serverload only hit critical levels once today for only 5 minutes. So if your logged in to your account you should be able to browse pages just fine.
Registered users only see the server too busy warning when the server really is too busy. Ofcourse users that are not logged in will see the server too busy warning a lot more because they have a lower load limit.

    Kindest Regards,

    Re: funfiles satellite cant cope

Also, the higher rank you are, (vip, mod etc) you wont get the message at all. Ive a freind who is vip and he never has the server overload or busy warning, even when im stuck trying to access a page. I beleive the higher than "registered members" usergroups are exempt from this warning.

Please correct me if I am wrong ofcourse. I suppose everyone will have to try and become a vip so that they can access the site during busy times. I must admit though that the server load hasnt been as bad the past few days.

    Re: funfiles satellite cant cope

The last couple of days the server was pretty good
And yes your right, the higher you are in rank, the less you see the server too busy notice.

    below a little schedule

unregistered / not logged in - will see server too busy on 500% usage
unconfirmed - will see server too busy on 500% usage
registered users - will see server too busy on 1000% usage
all others including vip and donators don't see the server too busy at all

When the server usage reach 1000% it will denie all registered users meaning the usage will drop below 1000% within 10 seconds.
