SeeSaw has hired Neovia Financial to implement and manage a payment system for its forthcoming premium content service.

The Arqiva-owned web TV platform launched last month with a range of advertising-supported content from the UK's major TV networks and production houses.

However, SeeSaw plans to launch a paid-for service in the second quarter of 2010, offering 2,000 hours of premium content, mostly from US broadcasters and providers.

Neovia will process all payments on SeeSaw's website via its NetBanx international payment gateway. Payment options will include credit and debit card transactions, along with a Neteller e-wallet system for direct debit and streaming micropayments.

"SeeSaw will introduce premium content to the site in the second quarter of 2010. As this will be an important landmark for SeeSaw, it will be imperative that our customers experience a seamless and consistent service," said SeeSaw platform controller John Keeling.

"We are pleased to be working with the Neovia team as they have a proven and flexible payment network with technology that suits our business model."

Neovia executive vice president Dan Starr added: "We are very excited by this significant win. Our expertise in online payments, coupled with unique streaming micropayments technology for content purchases, make this a great fit for both companies. We welcome SeeSaw to our expanding portfolio of entertainment and leisure customers."

Last week, SeeSaw launched the opening stage of a £5 million marketing campaign to promote its web TV service via broadcast and online platforms.
