Coming off its most successful season ever, Ghost Hunters averaged 2.4 million viewers during its sixth-season premiere.
The March 3 show -- which celebrated the occasion with its 100th episode taking place before a live audience from Studio 8H at Rockefeller Center, where they presented their first-ever investigation at Alcatraz as well as a look back at the series' most spine-chilling moments -- posted a 1.7 household rating, according to Nielsen data.
The installment drew 1.35 million adults 25 to 54 and 1.35 million adults 18 to 49 to rank first in the 9 p.m. hour with those demos and second in the 10 p.m. hour, according to Syfy officials.
The March 3 starter trailed the 2.6 million who watched the fifth-season premiere on March 11, 2009 and the 2.5 million for the debut episode of the second half of that campaign on Aug. 19
