MultiChoice has said it has reviewed draft research data following a subscriber survey into the carriage of adult content on pay-TV channels.
However, a statement from the South African satcaster said it had no plans to review its position. “It was unfortunate that the research conducted was misinterpreted by some people to mean that a decision was made to introduce an adult content channel on our bouquets,” said Nolo Letele, Group CEO of MultiChoice South Africa.
The research was split between those subscribers who were against adult channels, those in favour, and those who were broadly indifferent. Lette said the broadcaster regularly conducted such surveys into viewer tastes.
The survey takes on added significance with the imminent launch of rival On Digital Media.
