GlobeCast has signed a five-year deal with Bollywood television network B4U to provide playout and media management for its eight-channel bouquet. The five-year deal also includes the initial ingest and archive of 22,500 hours of content as well as the implementation of a fully tapeless workflow.

B4U will deliver its Indian-originated content to a library at GlobeCastís central London facility. From there the broadcaster will be able to remotely access and edit content for playout to the UK, the United States, India, Malaysia and the Middle East, without the time and costs connected to the use of tape.

GlobeCast has provided B4U with the equipment and connectivity for a remote ingest site in India as well as an edit suite at B4Uís offices in North London. Both sites will eventually be connected to GlobeCastís worldwide fibre network.

Playout for the eight channels, which went live from GlobeCastís central London facility last Wednesday (March 31), will include subtitling in English, Malay and Arabic live at the point of playout, automatic audio level control, as well as logo insertions and graphics.

The eight channels for playout are B4U Movies (UK), B4U Music (UK), B4U Movies (United States), B4U Music (United States), B4U Movies (India), B4U Music (India), B4U Movies (Malaysia) and B4U Movies (Middle East).

GlobeCast has worked with B4U for the delivery of B4U Movies into the Middle East since 2008.
