Nagravision inks ONO hybrid platform deal
By Chris Dziadul

Spainís leading cable operator ONO has selected Nagravision to secure its next generation hybrid TV platform. The platform will be the first broadband/broadcast content delivery network in Spain, combining traditional pay-TV with the internet and delivered over ONOís exclusive fibre-optic network.

Nagravisionís conditional access will secure ONOís next generation services, which will include VOD, PPV and advanced PVR functionality in its new TiVo-powered set-top boxes. Nagravision already provides ONO with information management (IMS) and content management systems (CMS), and its latest conditional access will be integrated in all next generation set-top boxes deployed by the cable operator.

ONOís next generation TV platform is expected to launch in 2011 and to initially serve its fibre-optic network customers.
