Microsoft and Vivendiís pay-TV division Canal+ group have announced that the Canal+ and Canalsat channels will be available on Xbox 360 console as of December 2010.
The console-based services will allow viewers, wherever they are, to watch Canal+/Canalsat programming alone, or with those who also subscribe to the same Canal+/Xbox offer. A new viewing interface integrates an avatar located in a virtual loft and watching a giant screen. The interactive service will work with up to six users.
To gain access to the service, viewers will need to subscribe to Xbox Live Gold and to both Canal+ and/or Canalsat bouquets that also offer a web+mobile option. This is equivalent to the Canal+ five stars subscription. Those with 3 or 4 stars subs will have to pay an extra Ä5 each month.
The Foot+ channel, VOD service CanalPlay and catch-up TV service Canal+ ŗ la demande are already available through Xbox.
