If your Sonicview360 Elite has quit working, but some of the display lights still come on, you
may be able to fix it by reloading the factory bin and the factory channel file using the2.01
Downloader program. The files that are used in this procedure are unaltered Sonicview files.
We will use the 1.1 downloader, the factory 103 bin, and a channel file that was uploaded from
a Sv360 Elite. The procedure that is shown here was done using a Windows Vista computer, and
a Radio Shack usb to serial adapter. You will need a computer that has a serial port and a null
RS232 cable to connect the receiver and the computer. The receiver does not need to be
connected to the television.

Download and install the 2.01 loader program on your computer. When you open the loader,
you should see the yellow icon under the word “File”. Click on this yellow icon and a sub menu
will appear.

Select the proper com port for your computer’s RS232 serial port. Com port 5 is always
available in this program, and if there is another com port that is displayed besides 5, then it is
probably the correct one. Look in the computer’s device manager if you are unsure of what com
port to use. For this computer, com port 7 is correct and it is the one we selected.

When the loader’s com port is connected to the serial port of the computer, the yellow icon
light under the word “file” will turn off and there will be a red X on the disconnect icon as seen
in the photo above. If you do not have a red X on the disconnect icon, then the computer and
the loader program are unable to communicate. This problem will have to be resolved before
you can continue.

Turn off the Sv360 Elite by using the rocker switch on the rear of the receiver, and connect the
null RS232 cable from the computer to the receiver. Then click on the yellow folder icon that is
below and between the words “STB” and “Help”. When the sub-menu opens find and select the
factory 103 file.

“The Files of type:” that is at the bottom of this menu should be changed to
Main S/W(*.rom) as shown in the picture above. Once you have opened the 103 file, another
sub menu will open showing the data transfer. Turn the receiver on using the rear rocker
switch to start the data transfer.

complete. It is important not to disturb the computer or the receiver until the file transfer is

After the 103 factory .rom file has been downloaded, you may load the channel .bin file by
using the same procedures that were used on the 103 file. A channel file may be uploaded from
a working Sv360 Elite by doing a factory reset and using the Upload channel feature in the USB
Drives menu of the Elite.
