MBC Drama starts 27th November

Pan-Arab broadcasting group MBC Group launches 27th November 2010 a new free-to-air (FTA) Arabic language channel called MBC Drama. Stations will focus on drama for the whole family.

"After starting the MBC drama will operate 10 programs, and thus celebrate the 20th Anniversary of MBC Group, "said Mazen Hayek, director of marketing and PR MBC Group. "This is a channel aimed at families," said the local newspaper The National.

MBC drama will broadcast 24 hours a day via satellite systems Badr 4 (26 E) and Nilesat 102 (7 W) and will bring the series Hetan Wa Zeeab, Bab Al Hara 5 from Syria, a dubbed version of a Turkish drama Jehan, the famous Mexican show Arabic as Al Hob Al Aseer and Rani Padmini of India.

MBC Group launches the first Arabic language channel in 1991. Currently, the TV station and a website operator to monitor around 165 million viewers.

In the Middle East and North Africa is sending about 480 of unencrypted programs.
