UPC Slovakia expand basic analogue tier but raises price
03 Dec 10 -
Cable operator UPC Slovakia has indicated it will add new channels to its basic analogue tier to appeal to over-the-air viewers that do not wish to switch to digital as the country moves towards switchover.
UPC will add public channels from the neighbouring Czech Republic CT1 and CT2 to its basic analogue tier on December 15. The channels were previously available in the extended basic tier. However, the cable operator has also said it will raise the price of its basic analogue service in the New Year to €5.90 a month, after three years when it remained unchanged. This compares with an introductory offer for its basic digital tier of €5 a month for the first six months.
