Bouygues strikes fibre deal with SFR
10 Dec 10 -
French telcos Bouygues Telecom and SFR have struck an agreement for the deployment of fibre networks in densely populated areas of the country.
The pair will collaborate on investing in the deployment of GPON-based fibre networks, allowing them to mutualise the networks between points of presence and apartments and homes.
The two companies said the deal would allow them to roll out FTTH networks more quickly. SFR has already commercialised FTTH in a number of areas, while Bouygues plans to launch its own FTTH services in the second half of next year.
