The French audiovisual institute Ina has inked a deal with Philips to make its free online video footage library available to connected TV.

The agreement will encompass the 100,000 online videos that have been available for viewing or downloading free of charge since 2006 on consumer website

To simplify navigation on connected TV sets, the Ina widget offers viewers tools such as a search engine, video playlists, a list of most popular videos and a list of recently viewed videos. This deal follows a similar one signed with Samsung and Toshiba earlier this year.
