Customers on the Zon network in Portugal looking to receive high-speed internet access will be able to do so through a new DOCSIS 3 router supplied by Hitron.
The 8×4 Wireless-N Cable IAD (CVE-30360) will allow Zon to offer speeds of up to 400 Mbps. Jorge Graça, executive board member, products and services, Zon TV Cabo said the new modem would enable the Portuguese cablenet to continue to offer cutting edge services to its customers. “On top of the high speed possible, we can offer our customers advanced services such as central storage and print services using the CVE-30360 customized with our specific casing design, reinforcing our brand equity.”
Hitron has previously supplied Zon with a 200 Mbps product.
The CVE-30360 supports 8 channel bonding over DOCSIS 3.0. The resulting data rates of up to 400 Mbps downstream and 120 Mbps upstream. The IAD is future-proof with support for Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), energy saving and is also backwards compatible with DOCSIS 2.0 and DOCSIS 1.1. It supports remote management and provisioning, simple plug-in installation, and post-installation manageability with Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) as well as TR-069 Protocol support.
