Al-Jazeera awarded exclusive media rights

The media rights for the 2012-15 UEFA club competitions in the Middle East and North Africa have been awarded to the leading broadcaster al-Jazeera after a competitive bidding process.
UEFA announced today that it has awarded al-Jazeera the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League media rights for the 2012-15 cycle in the Middle East and North Africa. The media rights also include the UEFA Super Cups of 2012, 2013 and 2014.
In a competitive bidding process, the leading sports broadcaster throughout the Middle East and North African region has been awarded the exclusive rights to the competitions. Al-Jazeera proved its dedication and commitment to the competitions, both in terms of programming and coverage. All UEFA Champions League matches will be shown live and there will be extensive coverage of the UEFA Europa League.
During the UEFA Europa League group stage and round of 32, six matches in both the early and the late slots will be broadcast live while, as of the round of 16, the live coverage will include all games. Furthermore, al-Jazeera will be screening highlights and delayed programming and offering services in Arabic, English and French.
The UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League coverage will continue to be available across the range of al-Jazeera channels as well as on w//w.aljazeerasport.tv and via mobile, so maintaining UEFA's platform neutral approach.
