Sky Sports has announced plans to broadcast the Prizefighter boxing tournament in 3D for the first time, reports Digital Spy.

Prizefighter promoter Matchroom Sport has lined up eight fighters to battle for the 32,000 top prize at London's Olympia on January 29.

"As always, there's an interesting mix of hungry fighters looking to use the series to catapult them to a title shot as we've seen so many times before," said Matchroom MD Eddie Hearn.

"We're also delighted that this will be the first ever Prizefighter event to be broadcast in 3D - which will literally add another dimension to another thrilling night of action."

Former British super-middleweight champion Tony Dodson is the biggest name on the bill, which also includes four unbeaten fighters and three newcomers.
